I always use thread or floss to remove a ring. Just thread a piece of string under the ring from distal to proximal. Make tight rings around the distal portion of the finger. Pull the proximal end tight against the ring and keep uniarwpp-ng the string and the ring will come with it. Never had it fail although I’m sure there are times you may need to cut the ring but this way saves a lot of unhappy patients and family members. Now, if the finger is injured badly this obviously will not work. Common scense!
